I believe I will be the last person you want to hear about body image and fashion on earth because you can definitely tell those two things are not on me naturally. As you have read previous posts I wrote, my realization of fashion and cosmetic and even for body image came in very late in my adolescence, which means I missed whole lot of time to build up a good looking body(?) and develop a good habit for dressing style. The first thing came in to my thought was that in one Chinese New Year, a friend of mine his mom bought me clothes as gifts from Hang-Ten store. That was the starting point where I started to think maybe those clothes look good good on my body. Later on, I started to rent magazines from stores to see what other people are wearing, yet it was difficult for me to figure out what the best is for me. Part of that has to do in my childhood and my family since those things weren't important through out my young age. Once I got into my senior high school, I started to see people around me. Especially during the weekend when they dressed something not school uniform, those good style were really attracted me. Finally, when I stepped out Taiwan and studied in the US, every time when I passed by some fancy men's shops, I enjoyed a lot just by watching those clothes on wood-models and how they look or those pictures they present. I was thinking that one day, at least I should be half way like them.
Yet, after few years of laziness not doing much exercises to train my body, I finally decided it is the time to kick some fat out of my body for my own good and my the other as well. So, within past two months, I began to do some aerobic exercises to lower my body fat. In addition to that, I quited eating food at least 4 hours before sleeping. My dinner also became as light as possible. After few weeks later, I started to do some weight training because according to the websites I have visited, they all state that weight training not only train the muscles but also increase the amount of fat that will burn when you are doing aerobics. Thus, these two are complement to each other. Thus, starting with body weight in 73kg, now I am in 66kg. It still a long way to go to get my goal achieves, yet I think it will do a lot of goods not only to my health but also to my horn playing.
As for the weight training and back to the topic, body image, I have to go to gym several time a week. From my observation to those people in the gym, most male are doing weight training equipments, and most female are doing aerobics. Odd to see but can be understood. Now, I became a stranger in the gym because I am a only few male doing the aerobics for a long time. The reason for that is I don't want my body to look too big and thick, but want them to be tight and slim. Thus, I have to get rid of body fat first because the more body fat I have, the bigger my body will be when I do the weight training.
So, what do these people's body look like in the gym? They can be said as athletic fit and slim fit. Some of the people, they have very incredible muscle which is big and powerful. Yet, that is the one I don't like because what is that for? I like slim/fit or regular/fit which provides a good looking when they put clothes on. Indeed, there are many people like me that they just go to gym to do some exercises and not really care about how much does my biceps and triceps grow or is my abs getting firmer and firmer and so on. we just go there to satisfy our basic needs and do whatever we can get. Before I walked into the OU gym I was so afraid that people will stare at me and think what the hell is he doing here. The reason is because that OU is a top school for the athletics in many area. However, few weeks passed, I realize how stupid I was to have that kind of thought because everyone has the right to exercise their body no matter what age, gender, race, or occupation they are. It's the basic needs to form a human being.
Okay, too much of my own thought. Now, just show some pictures here to see the body type I was talking about!

All the info here might not be the same to everyone since each one is unique individual and sometimes my concept is wrong, so feel free to correct me!
